March 28,06 Meeting

Our March 28, 06 meeting will be at our new location @ the OSU extension at N.W. 10th and Portland in Oklahoma City, OK. One Topic to be discussed will be "Making splits and introducing Queens". When you have a hive that is 2 deep boxes full of bees and it's not time for the honey flow yet you need to split that hive to make more room for the colony to grow. If it becomes too full it will probably swarm. Other topics related to Beekeeping in April will also be discussed. If time permits we have a couple of other things on the agenda. Oh, by the way, we will have door prizes and refreshments. We have had several people contact us wanting to know if our meetings are open to the public? The answer is, YES. Everyone that is interested in bees is encouraged to attend. If you wish to become a member the dues are $7.50 per year and we encourage interested persons to join us. But you do not have to join to attend. See you there !!!!
