February 28 COBA Beginning Beekeeping class session has been RESCHEDULED

ATTENTION current COBA STUDENTS, the class session scheduled for this Saturday, February 28, will be postponed to March 7. The March 7 session will be taught on a new date, March 14. The March 21 session is expected to remain unchanged.

Due to circumstances beyond anyone's control, a conflict arose with use of the facility this Saturday. That, combined with the predicted inclement weather, and long distances some students would need to travel, prompted this change.

We are sorry for any inconvenience, and will keep you informed.

Clarification:  The February 26 COBA meeting will continue as planned.

COBA February meeting this Thursday, February 26

The February COBA meeting will be Thursday, February 26th, 2015 at our new location:

Will Rogers Gardens Exhibition Center
3400 NW 36th St
Oklahoma City OK 73112

7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

In addition to regular activities, we will cover February and March beekeeping to-do lists, have a short talk by Barry Fox of the Oklahoma Science Museum, discuss some upcoming public educational opportunities, and have a brief presentation regarding wax moth traps and wasp traps.

Of course there will be a door prize drawing, and opportunity to talk to experienced (and new) beekeepers.

Please bring a snack to share, and perhaps something bee related for the door prize drawing.

This meeting is intentionally being kept a little shorter.  We don't have the flexibility to run over time that we had at the old facility.

We are asking that you help set up and clean up, also.  Just as in the hive, many workers can get a lot done quickly.  Helping set out chairs and put them away, for instance, makes a huge difference. Since we're responsible for cleanup (always have been), tending for your own spills and drops will help too.
